July 11, 2026Diego Herrera4 мин

The long-awaited new season for Fortnite's Battle Royale and Zero Build modes has finally arrived after some delays. This guide will cover all the new (and some returning) features in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, titled 'Final Duel.' We'll dive into the updated map, new weapons and items, the latest Battle Pass skins, and the season-defining Rivalry system. However, these updates also brought a price increase for V-Bucks, which has caused significant dissatisfaction among players, with some boycotting purchases and others threatening to stop playing entirely.

The new content went live on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

New Map Locations

Let's begin by exploring the changes to the map in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. The new points of interest include:

  • Cold Fortress (Fortaleza Fría)
  • Squid Coast (Costa Calamar)
  • Shadowy Territory (Territorio Tenebroso)
  • New Sanctuary (Nuevo Santuario)

New Weapons and Items

The following new weapons and items are introduced this season (names are subject to final confirmation):

  • Vector 7 Designated Marksman Rifle – A scoped rifle designed for high-precision long-range shots.
  • Chaotic Reload Shotgun – A single-shot shotgun that automatically reloads when not equipped.
  • Bouncing Dynamite – Dynamite that triggers an explosion with each bounce.
  • Impulse Grenade – Increases the movement and firing speed of anyone affected by its explosion.
  • Zipline Extender – Creates a zipline between the player's current position and their point of impact.
  • Unlocked in Final Duel:
    • Ice King's Gauntlets – Shoots ice projectiles and can generate storms. Obtained by defeating the Ice King in his Fortress.
    • The Foundation's Rift Rifle – Creates a rift at the point of impact.
    • Cannon of The Seven – Fires explosive rounds after charging.
    • Power Gloves of The Seven – Allows players to lunge forward with a punch or grapple upwards.
    • Slurpizza – A healing item with a slap effect.

The Final Duel and Rivalry System

Upon launching Fortnite for the first time in Chapter 7 Season 2, players must choose a team:

  • Team The Foundation
  • Team The Ice King

Eliminating opponents earns points for your chosen team. As the team levels up, new weapons and items become unlocked for all members. At the end of the season, Battle Pass holders on the winning team will receive an exclusive bonus outfit style: the 'Iceproof' style for The Foundation or the 'Frozen' style for The Ice King.

Additionally, completing weekly Final Duel quests can earn players more cosmetic items such as pickaxes, emotes, and more. Players can track their progress and team standings on the official website, but an Epic Games account login is required to claim rewards.

A key mechanic defining this season is the Rival system. Rivalry screens are scattered across the island. Activating one will challenge another player to a duel. Winning these duels grants points for your team, Rival Credits (for purchasing advantages and powerful weapons), and Experience Points.

New Battle Pass Skins

The new Battle Pass outfits are now available. A notable change this season is that the Battle Pass no longer provides additional V-Bucks beyond level 100 in the Bonus Rewards section, a move that has fueled player boycotts.

The default skin unlocked upon purchasing the Battle Pass is the Ice King, while the level 100 reward is Bugs Bunny. Another prominent skin this season is The Foundation, leader of The Seven, portrayed by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who comes with bonus styles and items for players who acquire the Battle Pass early in the season.

Other Season Novelties

  • At the start of each match, one player will be chosen to pilot the Battle Bus.
  • If you are rebooted in a match, the player who eliminated you is automatically marked as a rival.
  • A new ranked mode called Arenas will be introduced in the second week of April.
  • New Rift Anomalies will appear, granting automatic rivalries to all players, altering storm patterns, and spawning drones with special loot.
  • Later in the season, if eliminated in a match, players can request a rematch to be paired in the next game with their eliminator, who will then become a rival.

Fortnite is a free-to-play game with optional in-game microtransactions, available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS and Android mobile devices, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
