Following its successful theatrical run, Netflix has officially announced the addition of Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe (Kidō Senshi Gundam: Senkō no Hathaway – Circe no Majo) to its streaming catalog. This marks the second film in a trilogy adapting the novels by Yoshiyuki Tomino, with illustrations by Haruhiko Mikimoto.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe achieved significant box office success in Japan, debuting at number one during its opening weekend on January 30th. It grossed over $14.6 million and sold 511,500 tickets in its first three days.

The movie features American R&B artist SZA, whose 2022 song “Snooze” serves as the opening theme. Gundam: Hathaway is an animated film trilogy based on a series of novels written by Yoshiyuki Tomino and illustrated by Haruhiko Mikimoto, originally published between February 1989 and April 1990. The narrative of the first film begins in UC 0105, 12 years after the Second Neo Zeon War. In this new era, peace on Earth and its colonies is shattered by a terrorist organization known as "Mafty." This group aims to prevent the Earth Federation from privatizing the planet and safeguard the interests of the privileged class. Consequently, "Mafty" and its leader, Hathaway Noa, the son of Bright Noa, fight for the equality of humanity.
