After a decade of anticipation, Idea Factory and Compile Heart have confirmed the development of a new numbered entry in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. The official announcement, marking a return to the franchise's main storyline, is set for Thursday, March 19, 2026, on Compile Heart's YouTube channel.

The Hyperdimension Neptunia series hasn't seen a main entry since Megadimension Neptunia VII in 2015. While the franchise owners focused on numerous spin-offs in recent years, this new title will resume the official numbering that began in 2010.

Compile Heart's official website has revealed an illustration featuring silhouettes of characters for the upcoming Hyperdimension Neptunia game, subtly hinting at their attire and accessories. The Japanese developer has confirmed that the cast will include both familiar faces and brand-new characters. While initially slated for a late 2025 reveal to coincide with the franchise's 15th anniversary, the presentation was rescheduled for the first quarter of 2026 after statements by Hikaru Yasui in Famitsu magazine in early 2025.
The March 19 reveal event is expected to provide further details on gameplay, characters, launch platforms, and how the story of this new Hyperdimension Neptunia will fit into the series' universe.
