LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight Release Date Moved Up
Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have announced that LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight will now launch on May 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This brings the release date forward by a week from its previously scheduled May 29th. Interestingly, while a Nintendo Switch 2 version is confirmed, it will not be released alongside the other platforms and currently has no specific launch date, only a general window in 2026.
LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight is an upcoming open-world action-adventure title that invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne's epic journey to become Gotham City's protector. Drawing extensive inspiration from decades of Batman films, TV series, comics, and video games, the game is packed with nostalgic references to both the Batman and broader DC universes, all delivered with TT Games' signature LEGO humor.
Joining the Caped Crusader in his fight to save Gotham City are fan-favorite characters such as Robin with his trusty grappling gun, Nightwing with his battle staff, Batgirl wielding her versatile hackarang, and Catwoman, equipped with her signature whip and loyal feline companion. Each playable character boasts unique abilities, progression trees, combat combos, and specialized gadgets.
The latest trailer for the game also showcased a lineup of new DC super-villains players will confront, including Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Firefly, and Mr. Freeze. They'll also face off against iconic members of Batman's famous Rogues Gallery, such as The Joker, The Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane. Furthermore, fans got their first glimpse of iconic vehicles like the Batmobile from Batman: The Animated Series and the Batpod from The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises films, both of which will be drivable in the game's expansive open world.
