What is the Story of Magic Knight Rayearth (Las Guerreras Mágicas)?

The narrative follows Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, three strangers united by fate during a seemingly ordinary school excursion to the Tokyo Tower. Accompanied by a powerful flash of light, they hear a mysterious woman's plea to save "Céfiro." Subsequently, the high school heroines are suddenly drawn into an unknown land by a giant flying fish. There, they encounter Master Mage Clef.

Clef informs the girls that they have been summoned by Princess Emeraude to fulfill their destiny. This destiny dictates that, as Magic Knights, they must restore peace and balance to Céfiro. This once vibrant and peaceful land is now plunged into chaos because the High Priest Zagato has imprisoned the princess, who serves as Céfiro's pillar of stability. Reluctantly accepting Clef's words, The Magic Knights embark on a journey to rescue Céfiro from the clutches of evil.

CLAMP originally serialized the Magic Knight Rayearth manga in Kodansha's Nakayoshi magazine from 1993 to 1996, spanning six volumes. The manga was adapted into two television anime seasons: the first from October 1994 to March 1995, and the second, titled Magic Knight Rayearth 2, from April to November 1995. The manga also inspired a three-episode OVA series titled Rayearth in 1997, which presented an alternative version of the story.
