Neptunia Unlimited: First Details on Compile Heart's New Game After 10 Years

In early March, Compile Heart announced that a new Hyperdimension Neptunia game would be revealed on March 19th. The day arrived, and the Japanese developer has now officially confirmed that Neptunia Unlimited is the upcoming main installment in the popular Hyperdimension Neptunia series.

When is the release date for Neptunia Unlimited?

The initial trailer confirms that Neptunia Unlimited will first launch in Japan on August 27, 2026. As of now, the release date for Neptunia Unlimited in other regions has not been announced. The game is set to introduce new CPU Goddesses, each inspired by current-generation gaming consoles. The title will be available on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It's important to note that although a character representing the Xbox brand is included in the game, a version for Microsoft's consoles has not yet been confirmed.

What do we know about Neptunia Unlimited?

In Neptunia Unlimited, players will find Neptune (Purple Heart) in an apocalyptic setting where the world's survival hinges on a unique "retry" mechanic. The primary goal is to alter destiny to achieve a "true ending" in an entirely new narrative for the franchise. In this latest entry, the classic goddesses —Noire, Blanc, and Vert— will share the spotlight with a new ensemble of characters:

• Rouge (Red Heart), envisioned as the successor to the Nintendo Switch,
• Ciel (Blue Heart), embodying the PlayStation 5,
• Anna and Lot (Eclipse Heart), inspired by the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.

The debut trailer showcases an evolution in both the combat and exploration systems. Upon activating their CPU forms, the protagonists gain the ability to fly freely across maps and engage in expansive aerial battles against large-scale enemies. Although Blanc's official character profile makes mention of the twins Rom and Ram, it has not yet been confirmed whether these CPU Candidates will be playable characters in the game.
