German sources indicate that AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Arsenal are preparing to compete for the signature of Leon Goretzka, who will be available as a free agent this summer after departing Bayern Munich.

The midfielder, who recently turned 31, has confirmed his decision not to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, making him a free agent starting June 30th.

While Arsenal has been a long-standing suitor and is considered a front-runner, they face significant competition from Italian Serie A clubs.

Italian Experience Appeals to Goretzka

Christian Falk, a reporter for Bild, suggests that AC Milan is actively pursuing Goretzka, envisioning a compelling midfield duo with Luka Modric.

Inter Milan is also strongly interested in the German international. Juventus, however, appears to be a less likely destination due to their current struggle to secure a Champions League qualification spot.

This move marks the end of an era for Goretzka, who has been a part of Bayern Munich since 2018.

The transfer strategy draws parallels with Luka Modric's recent move as a free agent after a long tenure at Real Madrid, demonstrating a desire for a new challenge in a different league.
