Louis Labeyrie, who previously played for the Alsatian club during the 2017-18 season, has made his highly anticipated return to SIG Strasbourg. Since his initial stint, Labeyrie had gained valuable experience playing in Spain for clubs like Valencia and Gran Canaria, as well as in Russia with Kazan. SIG Strasbourg brought him back to fill the void left by the injured William Pfister.

During the first half of the season at Gran Canaria, Labeyrie's statistics showed an average of 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17 minutes across 20 matches. However, he quickly found his rhythm upon returning to the French championship. In his comeback game, he played 33 minutes, contributing 8 points and an impressive 12 rebounds, 11 of which were defensive. His teammate, Abdoulaye N’Doye, lauded Labeyrie's significant impact in a game largely controlled by the Sigmen, despite a late surge from the opposition who scored 18 points in the final five minutes, causing some brief concerns.

Abdoulaye N’Doye shared his thoughts on the team's dynamic: "It's a huge relief to have everyone back. Honestly, it's great to be at full strength, as it's been a very long time since that was the case. We need to express our gratitude to Gabe Brown and Ben Gregg, who bravely played despite their pain. It's incredibly satisfying to secure a home victory again; it's genuinely beneficial for our standing in the league. We are all familiar with Louis Labeyrie's caliber; he is undoubtedly a high-level player. He's passionate, arrived in excellent shape, and with a fantastic mindset. He consistently creates more space for everyone on the court. This was truly a collective victory for us. We've certainly experienced many ups and downs this season, but there's never any panic among us. These are situations we've faced before and learned from. It's a very positive step to be back to a squad of ten active players; it will undoubtedly lead to higher quality and intensity in our training sessions."
