Bastien Grasshoff Signs First Professional Contract with MSB
At just 18 years old, Bastien Grasshoff has signed his first professional contract with MSB (Le Mans Sarthe Basket) this Wednesday. Having become an almost indispensable player for the team this season, this well-deserved recognition comes for the young forward, who has established himself as one of the revelations of the Betclic Élite season.
Grasshoff joined Le Mans at the U15 level and steadily climbed through the ranks, now averaging 7.3 points in the French championship. Despite his current success, the Marseille native nearly didn't make it, only gaining the trust of the Sarthois management after initial struggles.
Bastien Grasshoff recounted his early challenges, stating: "I sent my resume to six or seven clubs. I received negative feedback from some, others didn't even respond, and I managed to get two trials, one at Le Mans and one at Pau. At Pau, they didn't want to take me because they were looking for someone more experienced, already ready to play at the Espoirs level. In any case, I felt better at Le Mans. Hugo Legentil, the U18 coach, had seen me previously during a tournament in Montpellier and had appreciated my play."
