Coaches React: Paris Basketball vs. Partizan Belgrade Euroleague Match

Francesco Tabellini (Paris Basketball Coach)

The game unfolded in two distinct halves. The first half wasn't terrible, but critical errors prevented us from gaining the upper hand. The second half, however, was not good at all. We had the right energy, but our shots simply weren't falling. They made crucial baskets, and frustration quickly overtook us, making it difficult to maintain our collective composure. We lost our identity by stopping playing for one another, allowing them easy dunks. This is, without a doubt, the best recipe for creating a disaster, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened.

Nadir had an excellent first half, hitting many shots. But later, when his attempts stopped going in, he struggled to find his teammates. This is a crucial limit he needs to overcome to develop into a world-class point guard.

Joan Penarroya (Partizan Belgrade Coach)

It's never easy to face Paris, especially when you've played just 48 hours earlier. They play at a very high pace. We understood this challenge well, and in the second half, we were very effective in controlling their transition situations. This is an important victory for us, and I am very pleased for my players.

Regarding Nick Calathes, he is undoubtedly one of the most significant players in the Euroleague over the last 15 years. It's a tremendous advantage for me to have him on the team. He possesses a wealth of experience, is an incredibly hard worker, and an excellent teammate. Tonight, he finished with superb statistics, but very often, his overall impact extends far beyond the numbers on the box score.

Finally, it's incredibly important for us to be able to count on our fans, even when we're playing away from home. The atmosphere they create is almost indistinguishable from playing at home. Their support helps us tremendously. A big thank thank you to them, because they assist us, particularly in difficult moments or when we need a little boost of energy.
