Nikola Djurisic, who was selected 43rd overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, ultimately did not secure a place in the NBA. Having never played a single game in the Big League, the Serbian player has now officially signed with his cherished club, Red Star Belgrade, as confirmed by the team.

Despite his NBA aspirations not fully materializing, the guard demonstrated promising performances in the G-League this season, averaging 8.8 points and 3.6 rebounds. However, this production will not immediately contribute to the "Red and Whites" (Red Star's nickname), with whom he has signed a contract extending until the end of the 2027-2028 competitive season. Djurisic is slated to first complete the current season with Mega Mozzart, the club where he played prior to his move abroad.
