During the second day of AnimeJapan 2026, Kadokawa delighted fans by unveiling a new trailer for the highly anticipated film "The Eminence in Shadow – Lost Echoes" (known in Japan as "Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!: Zankyō-hen"). This cinematic production promises to further expand the rich narrative of Daisuke Aizawa's popular light novel series, ensuring the franchise's continued presence on the big screen following the success of its first two seasons.

The theatrical release of "The Eminence in Shadow – Lost Echoes" is slated for sometime in 2027, as announced at AnimeJapan 2026. In addition to featuring the return of the main voice cast who brought the characters to life in the anime, the film will introduce a new seiyū to the ensemble, who will portray an entirely new character, adding an intriguing layer for those who have already followed the previous seasons.

The premise of "The Eminence in Shadow" follows a young man with the unique desire to operate from the shadows, influencing events without being recognized as either hero or villain.
