Naval combat takes center stage in the upcoming fourth season of Battlefield 6, slated for an official release on July 21st for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Following the reveal of the first trailer, players of EA's first-person shooter are preparing to engage in battles across the most extensive map ever created for a Battlefield title to date. Additionally, players can look forward to a new Elimination mission for Battlefield REDSEC, an air combat mission set in a reimagined Tsuru Reef.

Naval Battles and the Return of Two-Seater Jets in Battlefield 6 Season 4

The highlight of Battlefield 6's fourth season is Tsuru Reef, the game's largest map. This location will be followed by Wake Island, arriving in the second phase of Season 4. Aquatic combat will feature dynamic wave mechanics and introduce two new marine vehicles: the RCB-90 patrol boat, serving as the water equivalent of a tank, and the NSW RHIB light transport boat.

Alongside the Tsuru Reef map, the content for Battlefield 6's fourth season will expand the arsenal with four new weapons, notably the Interdictor sniper rifle. The new season also marks the return of two-seater fighter jets (pilot and gunner), a feature absent from the franchise since Battlefield 2. These aircraft include the F/A-18 Super Hornet and the F-14 Tomcat, the latter of which features folding wings when its afterburner is engaged.

This addition significantly alters the dynamic of aerial vehicles, as the presence of a gunner allows for broader tasks and deeper air-to-air combat. In relation to the F-14 Tomcat, the franchise has also hinted at a collaboration with the movie Top Gun. Battlefield Studios will release further details on this content in the coming weeks.

"We are eager for our players to experience the update when it launches on August 18th, but our collaboration is just one piece within the biggest Season of Battlefield 6 to date," stated Ryan McArthur, Executive Producer of BF.
